Kjeld Schmiegelow
Kjeld Schmiegelow is a Professor of Pediatrics. Kjeld's research interests include the etiology of childhood cancer, the biology of leukemia, the pharmacology of anticancer drugs, and both acute and chronic toxicities, including late effects, as well as the psychosocial consequences of childhood cancer. Since 2017, Kjeld has coordinated whole-genome sequencing of germline DNA for all Danish children with cancer. He was the principal investigator of the Nordic-Baltic ALL 2008 treatment program (2008–2018) for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, which included more than 3,000 patients aged 1–45 years.
Kjeld has published more than 600 scientific articles, supervised 82 PhD students, including 13 currently enrolled, and has an H-index of 89.
